QUALIFYING ROUND - All enrants will bowl six qualifying games, beginning at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 23, 2018

At the conclusion of qualifying, the top 70% of each division (up to a maximum of 16 bowlers per division) will advance to the elimination finals and will be paired into one-on-one matches. The winners of each match will advance to the next round of one-on-one matches. Winners will continue to advance until two bowlers remain. The two remaining bowlers will then face each other to determine the champion.

In all rounds of the elimination finals, the highest seeded remaining bowler from the qualifying round will face the lowest seeded bowler remaining in competition.

In the first two rounds of the elimination finals, the higher seeded bowler must win one game to win the match and advance to the next round; the lower seeded bowler must win two games to win the match and advance to the next round. After the first two rounds of the elimination finals, bowlers will bowl a single game to determine the winner of the match.

Bowlers eliminated in the same round of the finals will be placed in the final standings based on their qualifying totals.
Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Entries will be accepted at the tournament site as space permits.

Scholarships will be awarded based on the final standings of the tournament. The first place scholarship prize of $500 in each division is GUARANTEED. There will be at least one scholarship prize awarded for every four entries.

Proper dress and behavior is expected of all participants. Bowlers are NOT permitted to wears hats, sleeveless shirts, clothing with offensive language or graphics, or any apparel which the tournament director feels is inappropriate. Collared shirts are strongly suggested. Dress shorts (not basketball shorts or jean cut-offs) are permitted in JBT events. Bowlers who use foul language, obscene gestures or abuse equipment will be subject to disqualification, as determined by the tournament director.

AVERAGES: Handicap division bowlers are to submit the higher average of: 1) his/her highest current league average for 15 games or more or 2) his/her highest final league or JBT average for the 2017-18 season. JBT average re-rating rules will be in effect. Handicap division bowlers who have not bowled in the Junior Bowlers Tour during the 2018-19 season MUST submit a copy of their current league standings sheet (2018-19 season) and their final league standings sheet for the 2017-18 season, or they WILL NOT be permitted to bowl in the handicap division of this tournament.

There will be bracket competition available for the scratch and the handicap division during the qualifying round. This is an optional program which offers additional scholarship prizes. Entry fee is $3 per bracket and may be paid on the day of the tournament.

All rules not specifically covered will be governed by the rules of the Junior Bowlers Tour. The tournament director reserves all rights regarding the operation of the tournament.

                                                                       TOURNAMENT RULES
The Junior Bowlers Tour Thanksgiving Classic is open to al male and female bowlers (21 years of age or less as of August 1, 2018) who have never been a member of the Professional Bowlers Association. The tournament will consist of two divisions, scratch and handicap. Bowlers may choose to compete in either division. In the handicap division, 100% of the difference between the bowler's average and 200 will be added to each game.
